Susan M. Love, M.D., MBA is currently President and Medical Director of the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the eradication of breast cancer. She is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine, founder and Chief Medical Officer of Windy Hill Medical, a breast cancer prevention company, and senior partner in LLuminari, a multimedia women's health company.
Dr. Love is one of the "founding mothers" of the breast cancer advocacy movement and continues this work by serving on the boards of the National Breast Cancer Coalition, Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization and Young Survival Coalition. President Clinton appointed her to the National Cancer Advisory Board in 1998.
Dr. Susan Love is committed to educating women about their health. As author of Dr. Susan Love's Breast Book and Dr. Susan Love's Menopause and Hormone Book she has gained the trust of women worldwide. Dr. Susan Love's Breast Book has been termed "the bible for women with breast cancer" by The New York Times; a newly revised 4th edition was released October 2005. Dr. Susan Love's Menopause and Hormone Book, first published in 1998 and revised in 2003, was one of the first to sound the alarm against the widespread use of postmenopausal hormones.
Dr. Love lectures nationally and internationally on breast cancer, menopause, and women's health. She has been awarded six honorary doctorate degrees as well as numerous honors and citations. She provides health services consultation to federal and state agencies as well as to the private sector.
Dr. Love has a business degree from the Executive MBA program at UCLA's Anderson School and founded ProoDuct Health Inc, a medical device company focused on the intraductal approach to the breast, now a wholly owned subsidiary of Cytyc Health, Inc. She is on the board of Sanarus Medical and provides consultation to PacifiCare and PepsiCo.
Dr. Susan Love received her medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical Center in New York and did her surgical training at Boston's Beth Israel Hospital.
