Change | Corporate Culture | Management
Dean Meyer has made organizational health his life's work. He has been teaching, writing, and consulting since 1968. He founded NDMA Inc. in 1982 to focus exclusively on organizational transformations.
Mr. Meyer doesn't come at it with motivational pep talks or "touchy-feely" interpersonal dynamics. Instead, he systematically designs the organizational environment that staffs live in the system of influences that make or break people's performance.
Dean Meyer is one of the original proponents of running organizations within companies as a business, and has implemented it in corporate, government, and non-profit organizations through culture, organizational structure, and resource-governance processes based on market economics.
Mr. Meyer is the author of six books, numerous monographs, countless articles, as well as the Full-cost Maturity Model. The Full-cost Maturity Model (FMM) is a standard metric of an organization's capability to plan its business (its operating plan) and the full costs of its products and services (its budget, allocations, and rates). It is the most advanced, comprehensive, and cost-effective internal product/service costing solution.
Dean Meyer combines breakthrough thinking with down to earth practicality, and distills leading-edge concepts into pragmatic implementation processes. He has invented a tool-kit for business planning, budgeting, and rate-setting that makes it practical for an organization to calculate the true cost of its entire product line--FullCost.
Mr. Meyer has developed a method to change corporate culture in less than a year based on learning theory. He has researched and applied an entirely new science of organizational structure based on cybernetics. And he has been a leader in applying market economics within companies to design their resource-governance processes.
The result is Dean Meyer helps leaders convert bureaucracies into vibrant entrepreneurial organizations based on the "business-within-a-business" paradigm. He has facilitated transformations in dozens of diverse corporate, not-for-profit, and public-sector organizations throughout North America.
Dean Meyer is a native of San Francisco. He received a BS from the University of California at Berkeley, and earned an MBA from Stanford.
