The Kansas City Royals drafted Mike Robbins after college. He played three seasons of professional baseball with the Royals before arm injuries ended his playing career. After his athletic career was cut short by injuries, he worked in sales and business development for two Internet start-up companies, before starting his own consulting firm in 2001.
