Ed Skoudis is co-founder and Senior Security Consultant with Intelguardians Network Intelligence LLC, an independent Information Security Consultancy based in Washington D.C. Intelguardians offers complete security solutions for the global market. They lead the industry in security auditing, penetration testing, forensics, incident response and architecture review.
Mr. Skoudis' expertise includes hacker attacks and defenses, the information security industry, and computer privacy issues. He authored and regularly teaches the SANS course "Hacker Techniques, Exploits, and Incident Handling," helping over three thousand info sec pros each year on their way to becoming world-class incident handlers. He has performed numerous security assessments; conducted exhaustive anti-virus, anti-spyware, Virtual Machine, and IPS research; and responded to major computer attacks for clients in financial, high technology, healthcare, and other industries.
Ed Skoudis conducted a demonstration of hacker techniques against financial institutions for the United States Senate and is a frequent speaker on issues associated with hacker tools and defenses.
Mr. Skoudis has published numerous articles on these topics, including the Prentice Hall best sellers, Counter Hack Reloaded and Malware: Fighting Malicious Code. A volunteer handler at the Internet Storm Center, he donates his time to help organizations defend against attacks and the latest threats. He was also awarded 2004, 2005, and 2006 Microsoft MVP awards for Windows Server Security, and is an alumnus of the Honeynet Project. Previous to Intelguardians, Ed Skoudis served as a security consultant with International Network Services (INS), Global Integrity, Predictive Systems, SAIC, and Bell Communications Research (Bellcore).
