Craig L. Fuller is currently an executive vice president at APCO Worldwide, a global public affairs and strategic communications company with offices in Washington, D.C., and major cities throughout the world. On January 1, 2009, he will be the next President and CEO of AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association). He has been a Washington public affairs executive and political operative, and a passionate pilot and aircraft owner for 40 years.
Mr. Fuller is a leading expert on what works in healthcare today and what companies and individuals must do to control costs and improve quality. As a senior advisor to Presidents and Fortune 500 companies, he is also one of the most skilled practitioners of public policy.
Craig Fuller is one of the few individuals able to share practical insights about health care policy and the strategies needed to improve the current system. He also offers innovative ways for leveraging new technologies to improve performance. His insights on business, government and politics come from his three decades of experience in these areas. As head of Cabinet Affairs for President Reagan, he worked on the widest possible range of issues at the highest level of government. As Chief of Staff to Vice President Bush, he traveled with the Vice President to over sixty countries and every state in the Nation. Then, asked to Co-Chair President Elect Bush's Transition, he capped off his government service with a successful Presidential campaign and the task of helping to establish a new administration before returning to the private sector in senior roles with several top companies and a major trade association in the health care industry.
For over six years, Craig Fuller wrote a weekly electronic column on the healthcare issues affecting the world of retail pharmacy. The columns became a book, Monday Morning: From the Front Lines of Community Pharmacy that chronicles the battle in Washington to create a workable Medicare prescription drug program.
In business, Mr. Fuller led the public affairs group of one of the nation's largest public relations firms. He served as an officer of one of America's largest consumer packaged goods companies. He led the board of director's practice in a leading executive search firm and finally, served as the president and CEO of a leading trade association. He shares insights from all these activities in a lively, interactive presentation tailored to meet any organization's program.
Craig Fuller is a native of California and a graduate of UCLA where he earned a degree in Political Science. He earned a Masters in Urban Studies from Occidental College.
