Joel Fox serves as principal of Joel Fox Consulting, a public affairs and political consulting firm in Granada Hills, California. He is also the president of the Small Business Action Committee, an advocacy group for small business to take strong positions in the political arena through legislative action or the initiative process. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and his master of arts from Denver University.
Fox has also served at the cochair of the Citizens to Save California nonprofit group formed to advocate for political reform and as senior policy consultant for the Arnold Schwarzenegger for Governor, California Recall Election. He has also served on several California state commissions, including the California Performance Review Commission, the California Assembly Speaker's Commission on the California Initiative Process, and the California Assembly Speaker's Commission on State and Local Finance, among others.
Joel Fox has authored over 150 political and policy opinion articles which have been published in the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Los Angeles, Times, San Francisco Chronicle, San Diego Union, Sacramento Bee, Orange County Register, San Jose Mercury-News, Los Angeles Daily News, National Review Online, Manchester (NH) Union-Leader, Indianapolis Star, and The Record (Bergen County, NJ) as well as other newspapers. He has written and voiced a piece for National Public Radio news, contributed an essay for What Baseball Means to Me (Time Warner Books, 2002) and is the author of The Legend of Proposition 13 (Xlibris, 2003).
