Julie Morgenstern, dubbed the “queen of putting people’s lives in order” by USA Today, is an organizing and time management expert, business productivity consultant, and speaker. A New York Times bestselling author, Julie's five books are timeless reference guides that are insightful, reader-friendly and jam packed with innovative strategies. Each volume features techniques and observations culled from her 20 years of experience as a consultant to individuals and companies.
Ms. Morgenstern has been featured in publications such as The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Time, Business Week, Glamour, O, The Oprah Magazine, and Men’s Health and has made frequent appearances on many national television and radio programs, including the Today Show, Good Morning America, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and NPR’s Fresh Air. She has written columns and blogs for O, the Oprah Magazine, Redbook and Businessweek. Since 1989, she and her team have worked with clients such as American Express, GlaxoSmithKline, State Farm Insurance, The Miami Heat, the New York City Mayor’s office, Viacom/MTV and Hearst Magazines.
Julie Morgenstern’s first two books, Organizing from the Inside Out and Time Management from the Inside Out, have been made into popular one-hour PBS specials. Never Check Email in the Morning has been converted into a training program that is used at Fortune 500 corporations around the globe. And Ms. Morgenstern’s latest book, SHED Your Stuff, Change Your Life, is all about managing change. It helps readers discover how letting go of the clutter in their lives can generate the energy, clarity and insight to discover, “what’s next?”

Ms. Morgenstern has served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Professional Organizers, (NAPO) and was honored with its prestigious Founder’s Award for her contributions to the professional organizing industry. She is also an award-winning member of the National Speakers Association, (NSA). She received an “Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur Award” from the Small Business Administration and was honored by the White House in 2008 as a featured author in the National Book Festival. She was most recently named a Woman to Watch by Jewish Women International and Best Time Management Expert by the National Association of Professional Organizers, (NAPO) Los Angeles.
Julie Morgenstern received her B.A. in theater from Temple University and did her graduate work in directing at the Goodman School of Drama in Chicago. She believes that her work as an organizer requires the same set of skills as directing/producing – an appreciation of spatial design, the ability to see the big picture as well as the tiny details, and the talent to blend psychology and practical skills to guide people where they want to go. Ms. Morgenstern lives in New York City.
