Balanced Living | Change | Inspiration | Motivation | Personal Development | Teamwork In April 2002 author/driver Alyce Cornyn-Selby climbed into a very topless open cockpit roadster and drove from one side of America to the other. This open cockpit roadster had no top at all (retractable or otherwise,) no doors, no heat, no windows, and no windshield wipers! Alyce Cornyn-Selby may be the one person in the country who could ignite the American fascination with travel. Alyce is her own inspiration: she has authored books, she has been to Vienna, and she has lost 100 pounds. Raised in pre-Sony Japan, schooled in American management and honored in Great Britain, Alyce Cornyn-Selby is the nationally recognized manager whose own corporate group, scheduled for downsizing, became the most award-winning team of its kind in the country. She concentrates on what will work without the traditional blindfolds of conventional thinking. Also an award-winning scriptwriter and film producer, Alyce Cornyn-Selby brings visual drama and comedy to her programs. With an early background of adversity and obesity (she maintains a 100-pound weight loss,) Alyce Cornyn-Selby also brings humor. She ties her personal story of being perpetually terrified and unemployable to becoming a successful corporate executive, and the simple and profound lessons learned on the way. Most travelers her age might settle for a cruise or a nice tour of the Europe. "Done it," says Alyce Cornyn-Selby, whose international speaking engagements have taken her to all 50 states and 30 foreign countries. A researcher and expert on the baffling behavioral phenomenon called "Self Sabotage" (shooting one's goals and one's self in the foot,) Alyce has addressed conferences and conventions from Honolulu to London, speaking to such diverse groups as Boeing, Microsoft, the New York Times and the FBI. She is the author of 9 books, including Hit the Road: Across America in a Topless Car.
