Healthcare | Media Nancy L. Snyderman, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a co-founder of LLuminari, the parent company of BeWell.com and serves on the company's board of directors. She is Editor-in-Chief for BeWell―the first social network that connects members with credible content and dialogue from leading experts. Dr. Snyderman is Chief Medical Editor of NBC News. Previously she was Vice President, Consumer Education at Johnson & Johnson where she headed a new educational initiative, Understanding Health, which focused on educating and informing the public about health and medicine. Dr. Snyderman is a head and neck cancer surgeon in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Dr. Snyderman served as the medical correspondent for ABC News for 17 years and was a contributor to 20/20, Prime Time Thursday, and Good Morning America Her associations include Chief Medical Editor for NBC News, Associate Clinical Professor of Head and Neck Surgery, University of Pennsylvania, and she is a Fellow with American College of Surgeons. Dr. Snyderman has reported on wide-ranging medical topics affecting both men and women. She has traveled the world and has reported from many of its most troubled areas. Dr. Snyderman has been recognized for her reporting by the Associated Press, United Press International, California Medical Association, and the Radio and Television News Directors Associations. Her awards include an Emmy and a DuPont Award for ABC News 9/11 Coverage. She has been a Research Grant Recipient of the American Cancer Society, the Kellogg Foundation, and the American Academy of Otolaryngology--Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Snyderman has a B.A. in Microbiology from the University of Indiana and her M.D. from the University of Nebraska.
