He is the intrepid filmmaker/creator of the Tornado Intercept Vehicle and star of Discovery Channel’s hit television series Storm Chasers. His current IMAX film Tornado Alley, is currently playing across the globe to critical acclaim and packed houses. Mr. Casey's drive and determination to make an Imax film on tornadoes has been honed through years of traveling the world filming Nature's most challenging and spectacular events. From great white sharks feeding off the Southern Australian coast to lions on the hunt in the African Serengeti, from the peaks of active volcanoes in the Caribbean isles to the devastating 1999 earthquake in Turkey, from the massive wildfires of California to the hurricanes off the gulf coast, Mr. Casey has experienced and filmed it all to share his wonder of the world with Imax audiences around the planet. Mr. Casey graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a degree in film studies as well as pursuing post-grad studies at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. Prior to working in the IMAX format, he directed and produced documentaries on the training of U.S. military units, including the best selling Marines: Earning the Title documenting Marine Corps boot camp, as well as the more elite units of Navy Seals, Marine Force Reconnaissance, and the US Army Rangers. He also directed music videos for Rilo Kiley and the Violent Femmes. Sean Casey has appeared on such programs as Mythbusters, Good Morning America, 60 Minutes, Entertainment Tonight, The Insider, CNN, The Ellen DeGeneris Show, Fox and Friends, Larry King Live, Last Call with Carson Daly, All Things Considered, and many more. In 2008, he was named one of the 50 Best Brains in Science by Discover Magazine. |
